This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    OK, I'm a complete newb to these forums, and the m17r2 I received yesterday is the first laptop I've bought since my Dell XPS Gen 2 about five years ago.

    I have the 4870 single card in my machine. I'm not all that impressed. I'm not seeing that much of a speed increase over my old XPS Gen 2.

    So I'd like to upgrade by buying a second 4870 and putting it in xfire.

    I'm sure there's a thread around here about someone who has already done this, but if course I can't find it. Spare a link, brother?
