there's programs out there that will stress your lcd screen and bring that pixel back to life. As long as it isn't black, the chances of it working back is there.

I have tried them in the past and never had any luck but this one is popular..

You have a stuck pixel and not dead so theres always a chance it can start working again properly...

This is what I would do.

    1) try to use the method that QUAD and Don have mentioned above.

    if it does not work,

    2) Call Dell CS and tell them the problem the m17x has.

They probably will transfer you to tech knowing Dell CS...lol :p

Anyway, just tell em' you want a new screen that you paid for. One dead pixel will lead to another.

You should not have to wait till you get 5 dead pixels when the unit is brand new. I am assuming that it's brand new?

Add in that there is too much light bleed from the top and bottom giving the picture too much of a washed out look. Then they have two issues to address and fix with the screen.
