So last night right as i was finishing my work i heard a popping noise and it sounded as if one of the fans shut down. Im still using the computer and havent noticed anything else wrong but it does seem to be quieter than normal. Anyone had any experience with a problem like this before.

I hope you're monitoring the temperatures closely with something like HWMonitor. Getting that checked out should be a priority, and avoid stressing the system until then.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your machine, those are good temps that will do no harm to your system but my recommendation is to call our technical support and inform them on this matter.

    Thank you.

That's pretty high for an idle temp, so it may be the GPU fan that's having the problem.

Can you identify which fan isn't spinning, and what component it's cooling?

The gpu is on the right side of the laptop correct? like where your right hand would rest? I hear a fan spinning in there i think but im going to have to take off the bottom cover to know for sure. Im in class right now but once its over Ill do that and let you guys know. It has been sitting at 65 for about 15 minutes now and isnt fluctuating at all...

The m15x has the mode where you can turn on an integrated graphics chip, right? Do that if you haven't yet.

If the system is idle or is not running any intensive application then it is high, as Kevin mentioned switch to stealth mode so the system uses the integrated video instead. Let us know with your findings.

    Thank you.

Use thermofan to see which fan is spinning..(should be installed on your AW system)

also stealth mode will just underclock your CPU and GPU, if you want to use the integrated videochip use fn+F7 and reboot
