I've had my m9750 for around 2 years and it's out of warranty. Over the past month I've been battling with it trying to keep it working but it just seems to be luck that makes it work right.

When I power the thing on all the lights come on except the screen (stays black / no video), and the hard drive blinks a few times then the laptop freezes. I've disassembled the thing the thing checking for loose connections and applied AS5 to the components. But it doesn't do this every time. Once in a while it will power on and work fine without any crashes what so ever as long as you don't shut the thing off. The first time I got it working again I checked the hard drive and fixed some bad clusters and it seemed to work fine for maybe 2 weeks.

Now it is doing it again and after about 20 restarts I got it to post again rechecked the hard drive but found no errors. I've checked the laptop with 2 different hard drives with the same outcome as well as changing up the ram sticks. I doubt this is a video card issue as it runs fine when the screen turns on and boots normally. I suspect it is a bad motherboard. Anybody else ever had this problem and any idea how many it would cost for AW to replace the mobo?

I know I'm gonna eventually have to call up AW and get an estimate but I figured I'd ask around and see if anybody might think it's something different.

*Sort of off topic but does AW offer a trade in program for laptops? Didn't know if I might be able to trade this in and pay extra to upgrade to something like the m15x.

no they cancelled the trade in program and for a maxed out m17 they offered like 700 bucks

run Memtest---- i know you said you checked the ram sticks but this is to be safe :)
