Hi I just recently upgraded to a AGA with a 1080 ti (literally this week and well I purchased a ti and they sent me a 1080, they are sending the ti should be here by Friday, and I have had performance issues with it so far all explained here) http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/bad-benchmark-score-help.810993/page-4#post-10635992 so I now believe the 6700HQ might be bottlenecking this 1080 and if that is the case I'm better off returning it and getting a 1070 ti or 1070. My question is this on your 6700HQ what are you running in your aga has any of you experienced this with a 1080? its a Asus gtx 1080 turbo. And if you have did you find a work around or return the card? any advise would be greatly appreciatedthank you in advance
UPDATE: so after much frustration and hastle I finally figured it out, so the 6700 HQ is only capable to process 1980 cuda cores before it starts to bottleneck, so if your running a 6700HQ you can get anything up to a 1070 8gb but do not get a 1070ti a 1080 or 1080ti

Using it for more than a year now and no bottlenecks. My CPU is never reaching 100% use in games running at 144P with a framerate up to 165hz.
I run a 1070 but heavily OCed. -
Yeah I found out that anything higher then 1920 cuda cores is going to bottleneck the 6700HQ so that includes the 1070 ti, 1080 and 1080ti so I picked up a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW2 8gb GAMING iCX, and returned the 1080ti it should be here on monday
And thank you for your reply I'm glad someone did -

If your CPU usage is near 100% and your GPU well under 90% means that your GPU would be waiting for your CPU and being bottlenecked (not during the CPU test ofcourse, that oen is made to find the limit of your CPU).
I tested various cards between my AGA and desktop a year ago and FIrestrike scores where near identical on both systems except the physics score, that is CPU only ofcourse.Last edited: Nov 28, 2017 -
I have all the newest drivers, but I will take your advise and try redownloading them maybe they came out with a new one in the past 3 weeks ill update you if I get any better results -
Holy crap, Well I redownloaded all of the intel drivers from the dell website, reinstalled them and you are right my friend I believe it was a driver issue on single thread I was getting 315-318 now I'm at 367 (325 is standart 6700HQ) and at multi thread I was at 1683 now I'm at 1851 witch is a hell of a lot closer to where I am supposed to be Now I am going to re run some benchmarks I will update you with the results

6700HQ, AGA owner here, not seeing any kind of bottleneck unless you're talking a heavily CPU limited game like WoW

Since AGA is PCI 3.0 X4 at best I wonder is I7 6700HQ capable of pushing those four lanes maxed?

You lose about 5% with the AGA in use on an externa. monitor but unfortunately more when using the internal monitor. The 6700HQ isnt a bottleneck at all.

Looking on 3dMark, I found a guy with a 13r3 6700HQ and 1080 ti who was putting up similar numbers to my 7700hq/1080ti combo. Mine had slightly better physics scores, but otherwise it was very close. No bottlenecking.
Dear anyone using a 6700HQ with AGA(possible bottleneck?)
