I've got two brand new 4870's coming monday as replacement to my defective ones...

Should I leave them in their package (so that I may sell them) and wait to see whats going on with the 5870s?

After overclocking isn't there a very minimal difference between them? (performance-wise not feature-wise).

I would just keep them. If fermi has a dual solution you'll want that.

You might get stuck without a computer for a while if u do. Do u have a system to work on while you wait?

I would install them , check if they are working properly with my system, just in case there wasnt something else wrong with the system. The wait might take a while.

in my opinion,i suggest you to try find out as much as you can about the 5870,when will they are available, how much are they, are they easy to get, since you bought your alienware with 4870,if you can afford the wait time, try your 4870 to find out are they normal or not, after that just sell them, since selling will depends on luck too, other than price,if you can't afford the wait time just use them, and the most important it's you should ask yourself,do you need this upgrade or not :)
