Got my M17x last Wed. (specs in sig) and I love it. Found a dead pixel and getting the lcd replaced, but that's not the problem. About a day after I received the AW, my vista started to spontaneously freeze for a few seconds and overall respond slowly. Rebooted and it seems to have worked. So I install a few games like CSS and L4D. So I've been playing L4D with some friends and sometimes when I'm playing the computer just randomly shuts off. Just complete power off (no bsod or freezing). I heard that L4D is very RAM intensive so I wondered if that was the problem. Now just today my computer won't even get past the log in screen. After I type in my password the comp freezes. Is it the RAM or could it possibly be something else? I called AW and they think its the RAM? Any ideas? Thanks.

run memtest.....then we dont have to guess

Also if you had dual ram sticks, take out one, start the system up, if it works fine then you just have a bad stick of ram...or like scook said run memtest.

when you run memtest, do one stick at a time

+1 rep says it's the module in slot two that's bad.

Vista has it`s own built in memory tester, just type memory into the run box and vista will reboot and test the memory in dos.
