Just noticed that AAFES has a 22% discount on dell/Alienware laptops, including the new M14X. The discount is only 2% more than the 20% they just had, but 2% is 2%.

Here are the specs to the base model m14x:

    Price $935.22
    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium
    Intel® Core™ i7 2630QM 2.0GHz (2.9GHz w/Turbo Boost, 6MB Cache)
    4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz
14.0" High Def (720p/1366x768) with WLED backlight
    1.5GB DDR3 NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M using NVIDIA Optimus™ technology
    500GB 7200RPM SATA 3Gb/s
8x SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Slot Load Optical Drive
    1 Year Basic Plan

X294ss1 gets you another $10 off.
With AAFES there is no shipping or tax too!

I bought the 17x R3 through AAFES when it went back up to 20%. Was considering a return/rebuy if it went up to 30% again, but not for 2%. Regardless still a good deal for those eligible. On that note, I wonder what the PM was for heh.

It should say US Military only but at any rate AAFES = Army Air Force Exchange Service. It's a store for US military members/families.

Hopefully when I order my M18X they'll have a nice 30% discount waiting for me. :D

Afraid not. The Dell discounts are offered through the AAFES' online store. To register for an account, the website verifies military status by checking your social security number.

Yeah I know what you mean, I purchased a 17x at the 20%. I was more posting this because they had the m14x as well.
The PM was clarifying his brother's access to purchase from aafes since he has sworn in, but not shipped to basic yet.

This is awesome! It should also be noted that military retired and dependents can also cash in on this discount. AKA if you can get on base and buy from AAFES in store, you can buy online.

I'm impressed that Dell AAFES put the m14x on there so quickly. Good heads up to those who are AAFES eligible and were waiting on the 14x

Yeah I bought my m15x through AAFES and saved like $1000 with the specs I had. I even called the dell rep and he said that there's no way he can give me that good of a deal, so I bought through AAFES instead.

Someone said that military veterans are still eligible correct?

I just signed up, pretty sweet deal, $1k for stock M14x with 900p and bluetooth.

But, it looks like the only way to pay is with a credit, which I don't have :(

Hummm, I guess I didn't think of that, were you planning on paying with cash? Your bank doesn't give you a debit card that can be used as a credit card?
Do you have a aversion to getting a credit card? Using one responsibly is a great way to start establishing good credit (however it can also lead to the other side).

You should be able to buy a credit card with cash, there are a few available that work like phone cards and transit cards and have no fees.

I thought only retired veterans are eligible.

Darn I ordered when it was 20%.
    But only $30 difference overall.

After you place your order requisition and it takes you back to the aafes shopping cart, you can enter the code under the promotional code field.
