Just want to share that Dell is now doing 10% , 20%, and 30% off for EPP instead of the usual 7% off.
Alienware is 10% off though. Could they be trying to get rid of the inventory for the i7 models?
It is a good time to buy ! Get 3% more if you have DPA
Note: If you recently made a purchase using your EPP, I also suggest that you call your rep or CS and get an adjustment for the difference.
Just a though.

it's a nice thought but I would say "no way". That would be way too soon to overhaul their flagship product.
-
To Rengsey R. H. Jr. : 10% off? Do you have a link please?

For those of you unfamilar with Dell's EPP program, your company or school must be an active participant in order for you to qualify/use the Dell Employee Purchase Program and take advantage of their discounted prices. Check with your Employer's Human Resources Department or your campus info center.Attached Files:

It is a little early for the i7 models. There might be a few SKU refreshes though. They typically add a few options every quarter.
-
I thought 10% EPP was normal, what is it usually? I just ordered my M15x with 10% EPP, and those just came out and have the new i7 processors.
-
Normally it is 7% but with DPA you get a bonus 3%

They would not start clearing stock unless they already had a replacement designed and almost finalized, and them doing that without any indication to us is unlikely
Dell likes teasing the crap out of us with the new products, as we know from the M15x launch -

the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
depends on how much you spend. above 1600 euro it has always been 10%
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
It has not always been 10%....I spent $2500 on mine through dell and still only got 7% (no DPA)
Maybe you mean 7%+3%? -
the3vilGenius 3vil knows no fear
No i had 10% EPP in belgium. that was in august but it has always been that way for me. Its 3%, above 800 its 7% (i think) and above 1600 euro its 10%
-
Maybe it was higher in Europe. In the US it's normally 7%.
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
I see, glad to hear people in Europe are getting some sort of deal...they generally get screwed lol
-
I tend to agree with the OP, I think Dell is preparing a refresh of the M17X for the holidays. We should be able to see a new M17X by Christmas with i7, LED screen and maybe some factory OC GPU since nothing new will come out before then.
-
They could always add to the existing system. Maybe more colors?
I doubt any new hardware until the new GPUs and Arrandale. -
Well true but keep in mind Mandrake that there are no planned release for a new GPU before at least 6 months that's it from ATI or Nvidia.
I doubt Dell will wait that long to refresh the M17X. -
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
They would absolutely wait that long...it is a brand new system
-
Is there EPP discount for business notebooks? I'm thinking about the dell Precision m6400 specifically.
-
Will there be better deals near thanksgiving?
-
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher
And where did you get that information? Because it sounds an awfully lot like speculation to me
-
If I had to guess this is the last of the M17x. New systems will be introduced next year. The holiday season is the best time for them to liquidate inventory.
-
...*facepalm* .....
thanks to the OP but the last half of the thread is just ... -
-
you can still get it but in order to get the DPA 3% you have to select credit card as payment option, after that you should see a tab saying you can save 3% with DPA.
-
Do you need to have a DPA account already or it works if you open a new one? Is it kind of like the 3% cash rebate offered at Sager retailers and such?
Edit: Hmm, the rep told me it's got nothing to do with DPA and it's a credit card offer (Visa and MC only). Interesting how they won't tell you about anything unless you stumble upon it and ask... -
Anyone plan on buying asap? I have $100 off coupons that are stackable with the EPP deal.
-
Yeah i got those in my email as well today.. Along with 10% off brings the price down a decent amount....
-
Yes $300 off on a $2K system is pretty good. Plus another 3% if you have DPA for a total of 18% off. The only problem is they expire tomorrow.
-
I need those 100$ coupons... how do you guys get them?
@Mandrake: Planning on selling those coupons? -
-
i placed my order on monday, what are the chances of dell giving me the $100 back?
-
Edit: Forgot to thank you Mandrake for offering the one you have to someone who may need it. -
Well, I needed a good reason to buy by tomorrow, and you seem to have provided it. I've been waiting to purchase an Alienware since August... just lurking in the shadows until some good deal popped out.
-
I'll pm ya when I get back to the office
-
Thank you so much Mandrake, you're one in a... well, 6 billion.
-
-=$tR|k3r=- Notebook Virtuoso
LOL!
-
I'm also interested in the coupon. please pm me and I'll use it by tomorrow.
Thanks!!!! -
I also have 2 $50 off systems $999 and under if anyone wants it. -
thanks so much. you really are 1 in 6 billion =)
-
cookinwitdiesel Retired Bencher

-
Rengsey R. H. Jr. I Never Slept
I also have those coupons too. it's for EPP, but you can try it. Let me know if anyone wants it.
-
Oh wow, if someone has extra coupons I could use one!
-
why didnt i waited, i spent 3k on my new m17x and then from all suddenly alienware disscoundinues them, what the hell, i wish i should have waited
-
-
I'd be shocked if a bunch of people didn't get these. Mine are both gone but for anyone is still looking I would suggest just asking others that are here.
-
Are these stackable by any chance? I might receive another one in my e-mail today...
-
They're stackable with other % off deals but not with each other.
-
Oh well, I'll post mine on here if I get it...
