Today I attempted to do a clean install of the Win7 Upgrade (64-bit) I received with the purchase of my Dell/Alienware M17x. Unfortunately, I discovered that I appear to be missing a driver.
Does anyone know where I can find the following driver for Win7 (64-bit)?
Integrated Creative Technology webcam (M17x)
Since the M17x is now available factory installed with Win7, it only makes sense that a driver has been validated and is being distributed... at least to 'new' customers. Searches on the Dell and Alienware sites have turned up nothing. (The one for Vista is there but not the new one for Windows 7.)
Also... Since Alienware machines have always required a specific driver install order, does anyone know if there is a new order for Win7 or if the Vista one still applies?
For some reason they found it necessary to release detailed Win7 update instructions for every 3-4 year old machine they made, but not their current flagship... Unbelieveable!
ANY assistance is appreciated... This lack of information - especially on their top-of-the-line model - is EXTREMELY discouraging.
If someone has a new M17x that came with Win7 installed, could you send me the driver installer off of the CD?

Have you tried dell's support pages?

Marvie,
That was my second stop after the Alienware site.
They have every Win7 driver posted EXCEPT the webcam.
Since the thing is now shipping with Win7 from the factory, I'm hoping someone has theirs and can send me the file from their CD.

Use the Vista 64 version of the Camera Driver then, it should work just fine. AW/Dell didn't release Win7 drivers for stuff that works with the Vista Drivers
