I saw a loaded M17x R3 3D yesterday morning and a loaded M18x with 2920xm, dual 6990's, and a 256gb ssd along with about 100 other M18x's. Amazing prices on both of them, but I waited too long making up my mind and they got scooped up by others. Today there's only about 20 low end M18x's left. Do they have some type of schedule for adding to the store or do you need to just keep checking and hope they add a good one that you find before someone else?

I think you need to look everytime. I am afraid i was the guy that take the 3D one from you. i have got a M17X r3 with I7 2820, Killer and 120hz screen on monday. It is still in process, but i think it will be confirmed soon.

Keep trying and you will find a good one.

Edit: i just saw the 20% discount. I will cancel my order and i will wait for a good one with that discount.

    it WAS you!!! :p

that's ok. just grabbed a decent 3d model with a 2720, killer, 320Gb in raid, and a 460m. Added in the 2yr warranty with Complete Care and total, including taxes, was only $1600. Once I get it I can upgrade to the 580m for $550 like I saw in the other thread on here and I'll only have $2100 into this thing. figure around 25-30% savings over new :)

Now to search newegg for ssd's

Is the outlet really cheaper? I paid 2150 for mine new. Had a 20% discount though with those coupons. I would rather have that piece of mind knowing theres no defects or scratches

the discounts don't last forever, get'em while you can. I ordered my m15 a day before 15% went away.

I feel your pain, it would be an outlet Alienware for me without a question if it was available in Australia.

to be honest all my computers in my house have been outlet dells. My most recent dell, alienware area - 51 was brand new. Ran close to 3k after taxes.. but i got a real excellent deal. All of those outlets still run today. granted slow for todays speeds, but never a issue. oh.. and 2 x 24" monitors are also outlet items!

Once I receive it and buy the 580m I'll have about $2100 into it. So for $300 less than you spent I'll have the next upgrade for the CPU to the 2720, 8gb of ram instead of 4gb, and 320gb in raid instead of a single drive.

I would say yes, the Outlet is a good deal. :)
