I want to know for those of you who ordered from Dell Outlet; everyone knows the extra accessories or goodies you get with new systems arent given with oulet orders like hat, mousepad, leather bound manual, custom name plate.

has anyone successfully requested and received any of these from Dell afterwards? I want to get a name plate ordered and the mousepad. Hopefully Dell might be nice enough to send it out to me for free :)

You might get the plate, but no go for the mousepad. There is no part number to begin with, unfortunately.

from my understand most outlet is stuff that was preowned and send in for warranty repaire and then they just send the cs new unit and put the old one on outlet after what they call a refurb

or when an item is returned open box but returned

i may be wrong here but if its a returned item then they just put the box up and send the units out as a returned or scratch and dent even if its not
and you get what came with it new
so you would get the other ownes name plate id think

from what I've read and seen, outlet models only come with the laptop, charger, DVDS and manual, regular not leather bound, no extras not even the soft sleeve. You dont get a nameplate as well. Now, I dont know that if I request one would it be custom made or just a Generic meaning M15x written. Ill have to check and see. If someone has the invoice of their new system, maybe the mouse might have a part number :)

    Thanks Alienwolf!

Does anybody have a part number for the soft sleeve. That is my favorite extra. Would like to get a spare or two.

What would you all suggest is the best way to get the accessories for free? I've tried calling and nobody seems to know what I'm talking about.

Number one: you need to have the part number, if you got a new laptop that part number of each accessory should be in your invoice, otherwise you have find out the part number on the forum, thats why I'm asking for them :) so know what parts number to ask for. Dell reps wont know what you're talking about but if you give them the part number when they enter it into their system it should come up and they can send it out to you HOPEFULLY, for free or for a small fee.
Since I've never tried this I dont know if they will allow oulet laptop customers to receive these since it wasnt on their original invoice. I will call in later this week and let you guys know.
