So how long exactly does it take for a refund from dell to reflect back in a CC account? I returned my first R2 back in early May and have yet to receive a refund from dell, except for $2000 in my DPA. I called them up and they said to wait for the next billing cycle. I'm fairly certain I'm past that. They received my returned R2 on May 4th. It's now June 3rd.

The bad thing is this already happened to me once before with an R1 last year. That time I used my debit, big mistake because my bank is useless and sat on their thumbs until it was pretty much past their "deadline" for debit disputes to be resolved. Each time this happens dell reps "confirm" they've credited my account back but of course that's never true. It took nearly half a year before Dell finally refunded me for my first R1. I really hope this same bull isn't happening again. This time I used a credit card.

From past experience, Dell refunds within two to three weeks. If you paid with a credit card and you really did not get your refund after a month then you could just call your credit card and chargeback under reason code 85 which is "Credit not Processed".

I have called up the credit card company regarding refunds which are not given in a timely matter (1-2 weeks) and they have told me that you can put that amount in dispute so you are not charged for it if it occurs before your credit card billing cycle.

Wow.. I got my refund for M15x in a week and for my M17x, I got it a day after I shipped out my M17x. They didn't even check the product before returning my M17x. I did ask my customer service rep to escalate my refund so I can reorder right away so that might have helped a bit. It shouldn't take more than 3 weeks. Call and complain!

Yikes. Just keep following it up / escalating it with Dell.

If it's your credit card I'd also tell them that if it is not processed in a timely manner then you will expect them to cover any interest charged on the purchase as well. Additionally, you can ask them for their policy on refunds / ask for a confirmation e-Mail on when the refund is expected as well and refer to that if/when they don't meet that date.

All credit to Dell (except the bit they returned to me), they just told me they'd credit my card and did so without so much as blinking an eye.
Took two weeks. I did pester them a bit in the second week :D
