It seems to me that most people buying the M17x are getting the Intel wireless card. Is it more reliable or better in any way? I've used a Dell wireless card and I have noticed anything bad about it (post Vista anyways  ). Does anyone have any insight as to whether or not this extra money is worth it? I'm on a budget and would rather get the Dell card assuming it's reliable.

I have not had any issues with the AW1510 card which was offered on the M17x R1. The AW1520 replaced it I believe. While I have not had issues with it, my preference has always been Intel. ;)

Thanks, I'll save what little money I can and stay with the Dell/Alienware cards. If I'm ever doing serious gaming I can just use ethernet. +1 :)

You'll be fine. I typically connect over wireless @ home and have no issues with gaming.

This is the sort of thing that makes me confused lol. I just don't get why people prefer the Intel if the Dell is fine.

I don't know about the current offering of Dell wireless cards but in the days of the M1530 with the Dell 1505 N card there were reports of poor reception.

Honestly, If I have a choice I'll pick Intel.

If that's the case, I'll just research specific Dell cards when I'm going to buy. The one I have in my M1530 is the G card which seems fine.

The issue back then was with the N cards.
