Long story short, I ordered a m17x from dell.fr last week, before the Ivy Bridges were out here in France and then they showed up here yesterday.
In a moment of panic, when dell told me it was in production and could not be cancelled, I created this post.
Since then, I have cancelled the order and have now submitted a new order that will be (100% for sure) Ivy Bridge model.
So all that remains is a bit of curiosity... If you could look up this
SKU: 210-40039
What would have actually shipped?
I could never get this information out of any of the 6 people I talked to at Dell in the last couple of days.

You need to have 10+ posts to be able to PM.

Thanks, I just found some posts on here that describe the process about having enough posts and even then waiting for 11pm EST to get an update on the permissions.

@Jiaco, how about you wait a little. Bill said that if you ordered the new M17x it can't come with a SB CPU.
What does the invoice say? -
I have been on the phone most of the day and have now cancelled and re-ordered the machine.
I have yet to see the quote to see the estimated delivery date, but the previous invoice made no mention of R4 and had an i7-2xxx (base processor). The new quote is definitely Ivy bridge.
Sorry about this thread, it was created in a moment of panic when dell.fr said they could not stop my order and I was unable to reach anyone at dell via telephone that would help me. I have since talked with 2 people that were very helpful and responsive. So much that I am a very happy (soon to be) Alienware owner. -

Honestly, you should've waited. If you ordered with the 660M it would've been built with a IB CPU.
Glad it has been sorted though.
