uninstall the driver and replace it with the win7 driver from the Dell support page
check the various threads under gaming where there are lots of discussions about the merits and limitations of various drivers and a couple of guides.
do you really have a 340m card or was that a typo?

in device manager: try either the last Dell driver here
    http://support.dell.com/support/dow...typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&fileid=334065
or this one from nVidia that many have found works well:
    http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook_winvista_win7_x64_186.81_whql.html
the last link will also let you search for other more recent but beta drivers: some work better for some people than others but the video driver will affect not only your display but your power settings and thus your system stability as well
They are fairly easy to try and uninstall if not better than what you use already.

ok now this is starting to eritate me last nite i unistalled the display driver and i had trouble installing it so i called dell and they hellped me to install it
i got the one that was dated from september the latest one i think
and it just went out on me again it said display driver failed the screen went blank for about 2 seconds then it came bcak and said display driver failed but corected itself and this is eritating
should not be happning right ?
this time all i did was open up AOL and then i streched the screan without doing anyting other then clickong on the little box in the corner to enlarge the screen
i think i am using 1600x900 is it possible that using the full screan size is casuing this to happen or is it somthing els

Sounds like it might possibly be a bad video card.
