Sooooo, I've been thinking of getting a netbook as a PDA replacement/kitchen computer...only then I realized I could instead put that money for a replacment for my Asus n80nv.

The Dell m15x seems almost perfect-LED backlit, Core i7, Geforce GTX 260, etc. (Asus doesn't seem to have any LED backlit notebooks with anything better than the 240. My current GPU has 32 cores, the 240 has 48, and the 260 has 112. Obviously I'd rather go from 32 to 112 than 48!)

BUT-I need a spare ac adapter, I want to buy one with the notebook.

Also, any big problems with the m15x? I push my hardware HARD. I've been Folding almost non-stop on my n80 for 8 months with no ill effects right now. Folding on both the CPUs and GPU. I want to do the same on my next notebook (and that's a big part of the reason I'm splurging on quad core if I do this). I want it to be built for nonstop full useage like my n80 is.

Any thoughts? On paper the m15x looks like it was built literally just for me!

Also...any thoughts on this being a dumb time to buy, given I don't REALLY need it? I figure next year we HAVE to get bigger GPUs and 32nm faster clocked Core i7s that will make the 1.6 or 1.73GHz model I'd be buying today look slow.

A year from now we'll have mobile Sandy Bridge processors and probably the ATi Radeon Mobility 5870s in 32nm. Then again another year after that, hardware will be yet even bigger and better. There is not much use waiting, as you end up waiting for a very long time.
