I was drinking a little more than usual this past Friday and apparently I went on an Alienware buying spree on EBay. Yesterday I won an M17x and just a few hours ago I won an M15x, I guess I really wanted to get just about every model Alienware makes.

    Friendly reminder of forum rules...

I will leave the thread open as long as the discussion remains focused on the newly acquired "antiques" and their upgrades, rather than the circumstances leading to their purchase. ;)

I believe svl7 has done more than one GPU upgrade in his M15x, but depending on the GPU, the stock AC adapter is probably not up to the task of powering it.

Drinking and driving (even a computer) can be dangerous. Especially to your wallet :D

That's too funny, Bro. I recall once, I was watching some random shopping channel, think it was called 'Bid Up TV', and after consuming some (well, a LOT actually ;)) of said beverages, I almost ended up winning an auction for a signed Eric Clapton guitar......I was pipped to the post (thankfully, phew) by someone else (probably just as inebriated) to the win. It ended up going for something in the region of £1,200gbp, from very vague recollection.....and the best part, at that time, I didn't have £1,200 to pay for it, nor could I even play a guitar :D

God knows what got into me, apart from too much, erm...liquid :p

At least you got some things you can use and work with and have some fun with, so it's all good....apart from unexpected wallet damage!!

Defiantly have fun with them. One will be replacing the computer that I use at work, my Dell 1537.

For those in the US who are planning to be drinking and shopping online tonight and/or over the rest of the week, there is a sale on eBay for Samsung 840 Pro 512 GB for only $420!
