Well i JUST opened up my new Scream machine and I'm trying to connect it up to my monitor (Acer H233H) so I can have a dual set up. For some reason this is not working i have tried everything that I can. when i connect the computer doesn't even recognize the monitor at all...any suggestions? I'm using a HDMI cable if that makes a difference.

    Thanks a bunch in advanced!

Make sure the display is on before you plug in the HDMI cable to your laptop...

    its a pain,

    1. you have to have integrated graphics on only

    2. you have to hit the function f6 doohickey

and i believe you have to do a restart in there somewhere so it recognizes the external display

no fun. but its in the manual.
if you ever bothered to read the lovely pretty book. lol

I am pretty sure you have to press function plus a "f" key, should look like a notebook and a monitor on the button

I had the same problem until I realized that you can only get the extended monitor (extra) to work when you have the main video card(260 or 280) active and not in SLI mode. You see it does not allow for an additional monitor if it is in SLI config or if it is using the integrated graphics.

That is strange, even with new drivers it does this? I know that with desktop SLI after 180 drivers dual monitors + SLI was capable

I haven't used nvidia drivers for notebooks but if it works the same as my desktop then you could use dual monitors but I don't think it should matter

On my AW I just hook up a monitor and press "fn + f4" and viola I have dual monitor setup

Check out the drivers threads and see if the answer is in there someplace, if not post a question in there and someone will let you know. Batboy knows his drivers, he could prolly tell you if SLI/extended monitors are supported in the new 186.12 drivers.

Thank u all for ur help! I have gotten the dual monitors to work via VAG. I have been using them for about 2 weeks now.

The only problem that i am having now is i had a screen lock up so i disconnected my Vga cable. Now when i attempt to play games on my laptop only, i have horrible fps issues. like in places where i would get over 100 fps i am now getting 1 or 2 fps?

a few things that i have tried so far is:

    1. updating my video drivers
    2. rolling back my video drivers and uninstalling both of my video cards then reinstalling them
    3. reconnecting my monitor and attempting to uninstall the dual monitor set up

I'm completely lost and it is really frustrating...

is there is any help i would greatly appreciate it!

    Thank u all in advanced!
