Thisis the 2nd high end system I will have had in my life, and probably my last. The first one lasted about 2 weeks before having to give it to the wife and this one will have to last me 4 years or my wife WILL kill me, and no Im not kidding. Honestly wince my last few GPUs were of the mid range level and lasted 2-3 I think a high end system like this will easily go that distance. Cant wait!

Gratz, that's a good build the only thing is the single 5870. Dual cards are the main thing that separates alien from others...

Well Im a gamer, but not a huge one and CF 5870s sound nice but puts the machine way out of my budget. If I were going to spend more money then second HDD and a 820qm would be much higher on the list then crossfire.

That's a really nice system. That video card will serve you very well. Just make sure you get a 4 year warranty to guarantee you have it that long or longer.

Doesn't AW have the dual 5870CF option now? I would of opted for that.

They offer a 5870 and 4870CF options, but the extra money for me would have put it well out of my budget and plus I have no need for crossfire at this time. All the games I will want to play will work fine on what I have, and if I need to upgrade I can do so down the road. Honestly this is will be my main rig for coding, light gaming and general use. I needed a PC that would last me 4 years as the wife and I are discussing kids and I will neither have the funds or the permission to buy a new computer for quite sometime. Let alone a monster rig like the m17x.

5-20 for the m17x and 5-10 for the 240w adapter. I hope they are right as Im going on a trip that day and would need this for it. But I also remember when i ordered my dell and they sent me the bag for the trip but the dell came the day I was gone. I guess only time will tell.

Thanks! I hope my wife will speak to me when she finds out. Im thinking she will be ecstatic as this means there are zero things in the way of us having kids and that bio clock has been ticking HARD the last year.

With that i7, you should have the 1333 RAM.

Otherwise, nice build out. The neat thing, is that you can always upgrade components at a later time. Such as that second GPU.

    Congrats.

    I7 needs 1333 to function, 1066 is only for i5 cpu's.

I know I should have gone for the 1333 ram, but with my config it pushed the price to $6 below my budget and that was before tax and shipping (which was free btw). So tax already pushed me well over my budget. I do plan on upgrading the ram in the next month or so to better timed 1333 ram, but for now I will have to deal with the 1066. I also will be adding a second HDD not in raid to store all my movies on.

Yeah I couldn't get to sleep until like 4am. Im worried about my health now that Im playing the stage 2 waiting game.

When I look at the site, I don't see the option for 1333mhz ram. I only see the 3 1066mhz options. This is on the US site.

The 1333Mhz Memory options will only be available if you have the i7-720QM or higher processor option selected.

I sure hope you're right. My current laptop is great, but the GPU is failing alot lately and I need more processing power and ram. Once the m17x arrives the vostro will become a file/printer/media server.
