What's the point of refusing to add blu-ray?

They did add the option to burn to a Blu-Ray Disc in Final Cut Pro. I don't think it'll take that long for them to add a Blu-Ray drive BTO option. There isn't really a need for computers to have Blu-Ray drives since only movies can be used with the $150 add-on right now, and the internet is replacing optical drives, anyway. When's the last time you installed something from a DVD other than a game (even games are slowly becoming more popular to download)? I think that optical drives will be eventually gone all together in twenty years from now.

Still, Blu-Ray is a nice add-on for watching movies on your computer, but you're better off just getting a standalone Blu-Ray player to watch BDs on a much, much bigger HDTV. If you have a HDTV, that's really the best way to watch movies. Blu-Ray is far superior to typical movie download services at the moment, though the quality of those services should match Blu-Ray disks in two years.

Maybe you don't use optical drives (including BD) but there are plenty of people who still do.

Online is nice and all but I prefer physical media. Most of the time I d/l something I end up burning it to disc anyway. lol
