Sero, Perhaps you could be kind enough to post the other 2 codes here, (the ones that Dell says share with your friends).

That would help some people out. :)

By seeing that your codes were the same as mine, I was able to come to the conclusion that the codes can be used multiple times.

Oh, wow.... this stacks with the one time use $50/off code!! :-O

Oh God, how can I resist the temptation!! That brings the total down to $619 for the base model after EPP!

I could save ANOTHER 3% using the DPA, too, if I were to sign up!

    Ugh.... such a good deal...

Bgl, you will most likely have to cancel and reorder if you want to apply these discounts, and they only work if your a Student, or your business is a member in the EPP program.

It means that either you are a student, or you are employed by a business that is a member. However, Dell does have the right to audit you to check on your EPP status, therefore I would not use the EPP site unless I knew for certain that I was allowed too.

I'm a student for sure...I'm in the process of reordering, but the $50 off 999 coupon won't apply. How do I get it to work. When I enter it, it says "The following coupons have been entered but require additional information or do not meet eligibility requirements. Click "View Details" link(s) for more information"

Make sure you use the right coupon, One is for an order above $999, the other is for an order for less then $999.

Guys, just call the reps. I'm sure they can apply the coupon even if for you it's not working. After EPP and the $100 coupon, bully them for an extra discount. I personally would never order if not by phone. Reps will usually throw you a bone or something.

Thanks OP! Was worried I made the wrong decision about the SU4100 and it not having the overclocking option available. The extra discount made it a no brainer. Cancelled and reordered -EPP -50 -100. Brand new design and got over $250 in discounts. incredible :)

Why does +50 and +100 work? I thought the 50 is for systems under 999 and the 100 is for systems over?

Also, did anyone get the 3% DPA to work with EPP?

Once again, invaluable information on this site, kudos to you folks.

I am *this* close to pulling the trigger on one of these, when I can't get my m17x fix... but I have one nagging question:

Considering the general unreliability of laptops, and netbooks being worse, is it worth getting the Complete Care for one of these? Or is the predicted cost of repairing one (considering their original cost) just not worth it?

Seriously. I don't buy it up front, I wait until I need to renew my standard warranty and then add it.

so let me get this straight. I am a high school senior with all my college apps done. Will I be able to use the eep, or do i need to order for my brother? He is a junior in college already.

so I can use the eep for 10% off, the $50 or $100 depending on how much the unit price is, $50 for signing up for eep newsletters?

Then I can call dell, tell them my specifications over the phone, and ask for the %dpa discount, as well see if I can get them to throw in some bonus? how would that work? see if i can get them to throw in more ram, the su7300, or something like that for free? how would I go about doing so?

    Not really.

Dell will send out a notice with a discount to extend warranty.

It might be slightly cheaper to do it upfront, but not much.

My order went into production today. Do you think it's possible to get it cancelled and to reorder it right at the same time? Also how does the whole money situation work? I had just enough in my bank to order it so will that money go back there right away then right back to dell? I don't want to get overcharged on my bank account

or maybe even just add an upgrade onto my system worth $100 instead of cancelling it.
say the $68 upgrade to 4gb memory and like a $19 shirt?

You're most likely going to have to wait 3-5 days for a refund to show up in your bank account. I know that does you no good since by then the coupon will have already expired. You might just have to bite the bullet on this one and stick with what you have. You said bank account, perhaps you have a credit card with some funds available?

Mine was in "production" also and I just called dell epp and they canceled it.

Dell also returned the money to my bank account in less than 30 seconds after I hung up the phone. Reordered viva website, and got it for $830. Which Dell then charged me for right away, rofl.
