I was running memtest the other day and noticed that I couldn't eject any CDs or DVDs in DOS mode. I used the touch eject button above the keyboard and the light changed as if it was ejecting, but didn't do it. I had to use the function key for the menu to boot straight to the hard drive and eject the CD in Windows. Is there a way to eject the CD in DOS mode?
Thanks

Try searching internet for "eject cd command line". You will find many command line programs for this, e.g. here:

Maybe you should also state which computer you are referring to if you need help.
On another issue, please also specify what do you mean by "DOS mode". Are you actually running DOS ? If yes, then you will "most likely" first need to install the proper drivers for the drive. If you mean a linux terminal then you can use the eject command if the drive is mounted.
Finally, my guess would be that you can only eject it using the "fallback eject". That however depends on the drive -
Sorry, I am using an M17x with the slot load blu ray player. I just received it. To use Memtest, It automatically boots off of the cd and it runs the memory test in dos mode. When it's done and you exit, it automatically reboots. If I can't eject the cd then it automatically boots off the cd again and starts memtest again. On the old tray drives, you could just push the button and eject. On the touch sensitive button above the keyboard, you have to be in windows to eject the cd. So, I have to use the post boot menu to boot to the hard drive to avoid booting from the cd.

so google told me this:

there you have a linux solution. Another solution would be to use the memtest which comes with Ubuntu LiveCd which lets you pick whether you want to memTest or boot from HD -

I was able to eject it while doing pre-boot diagnostics tests. You have to keep pressing it multiple times, you need to find the exact spot to get it to work. I think it was during the test of the dvd burner or the memtest while it asks to continue... Anyway whish there was an easyer solution. I made a post about it somewhere in the forum
