I'm using the 182.46 Dox drivers. they required 'integrated graphics' and 'hybrid mode' to be disabled in the bios for it it work. (I have no problem with doing that coz I really don't care about the integrated graphics.)
If i start up on battery, the bios re-enables integrated graphics and i have to restart on power and disable it again in bios. any way to get it to always boot on Discrete?
Related, FYI: When I lose power while the comp is running, it starts to frame a lot! i realised that it's throttling back the GPUs. in the Command Center, i've now put both on 'Max performance' and it still throttles back.

That happens. Unfortunately, battery technology cannot keep up, and the battery can't provide enough juice for the GPU and CPU to run at full capacity by itself. Theoretically, it could, but it would give you about 20 minutes of battery life, probably less. You should consider getting a solid UPS if you get frequent power cuts in your home.

I have 5 ups systems for all my pcs (couple share one) and one to power my DVR and 52 inch LCD...
Its kewl, all power goes out and I am still online and watching TV. :-D -
I'm considering getting a UPS and taking out the battery on this m15x for the times when I don't go out much, like now. It's the rainy season where I am, and I sure as hell ain't bringing my laptop out in the current conditions.

thanks both, but my issue isn't frequent power cuts. i very often boot up on battery and plug in the power supply once i've pulled it out of the bag (if i've gone somewhere with it). it's not happened recently coz it's now been running 91 hrs straight. think i'll wait for 100 before my next restart
i don't mind if the battery dies in 20-30 minutes, i'd like the option to do that if required and change power settings if i think i need more time.
the best option for me right now is to pull out the battery so that i don't mistakenly startup without external AC power. but...if there's a blink in power, instant outage so i don't want to do that.
(power cuts: one of "electrical appliances" in my home is shorting out and cuts off one line. so i've to switch back the mains. downtime is the time it takes me to walk over to the mains, 30 seconds)
@kilthro: good thing about my room and position of my PC/where the laptop is, is there can be a massive power outage on the main line that provides electricity to the locality but my comp, cable modem & fridge stay on coz it's on a diff line. yes, it's nice feeling - "all power goes out and I am still online and watching TV. :-D"
