    Hi all.

Just got off the phone with Dell. As it turns out, the order I placed yesterday never made it into their system. This is despite receiving an email titled "Dell Order Has Been Acknowledged for Dell Purchase ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXX".

According to the rep, my order was taken by the website but never processed since the M11x was not released until today .

If this is true, then it is safe to assume that ANY order placed on 2/1 through the website but before the order paged was linked to HAS NOT, AND WILL NOT PROCESS!!!

Again, if you placed an order on Monday, 2/1/10, for the M11x, you should check your order status ASAP.

    And there's a reason I posted this.

The order should have 'processed' within an hour and been in their system well before I called them (according to multiple Dell reps, anyway). However, the web system basically just never submitted the order, even though I got an order confirmation page and was later emailed a receipt. If I hadn't called for a completely different reason, I would not have found out that the order didn't go through.

I think anyone who pre-ordered the system would be quite upset to find out, a month from now when their order said it would ship, that the order was never actually placed. Maybe it was a fluke occurrence, but I made this thread to warn people to check their orders, as Dell themselves believe the issue was caused by me placing the order on Monday, before the official release.

Heads up - If you originally ordered your M11x on Monday before it was officially on the site, and had to reorder, the order may actually have gone through last night.

I originally received an email from Dell with a purchase ID but no order ID, and just last night received the order ID - which I had to cancel since I already ordered another one.

Might want to double check things.. I ordered before it was posted up there and when I never got confirmation I called and ordered again with a rep to make sure it was in the system. The rep told me that my first order was not in the system and he searched around for anything but did not see it.

This morning I got an email confirming the first order. Not sure what happened but I called in and canceled the first order.. Kind of a hassle.

Happened to me. Dell ripped out $1200 from my bank this morning because the first order was through them directly, but my second order was with Paypal so that's still pending. I had to call India and they returned the money to my account and canceled it, so now Paypal can take out the money whenever the hell Dell wants to get it. Probably when my M11x is out of Pre-Production.

That's why I use Dell's credit card. It's all wooden nickels until they build it and then send me a bill.
