Well, while looking at the M17's configuration one day (on the EU site, I don't know if you can find this on the US site) I found something. Whether it's a mistake, some sort of a glitch, or evidence of the upcoming 4870s on the M17, I don't know.
Basically, while configuring the M17, if you click on 'more info' for the graphics card with the single 3870 selected it comes up with this:
It might be the description of the DESKTOP 4870, but could it be evidence of 4870s for the M17?

So, what do you guys think?
I think it might be a mistake due to the fact that it is the desktop 4870 configuration but I'm hopeful that it's evidence of the mobilities.
(I might not be the first one to spot this but I've never seen anything about this posted).

i see it too, curious dual 1gb 4870's possible soon then!
what a time to release then as the m17x refresh! -
no go on US site....

lol thats funny, i see that too, but the picture is still the 3870.
but now seems they already knew it and fixed it -
It doesn't work on the US site. Only the EU site. (I don't know if the fact that my country is set to United Kingdom has anything to do with it)

It is simply the exact same text that can be found in the 4870x2 description in the Area-51 750i desktop. ie Just a mistake.

it's says 4 gpu support in dual mode. so i guess it's 4870x2 crossfired. so i guess it is desktops. i don't see them saying anything about mobilty.

if they wouldnt have had plans to they would have announced it here...
