Just a quick question, if anyone has bought the above, does it come with the extension lead for 7.5 surround sound?

According to the Creative info pages, it's an option to buy it with the card, but there's no mention of it on the AW web page.

Thanks for that, so you need to buy it seperately to get surround sound.

I've got Razer Baracuda headphones which have inputs for full surround sound, i need seperate ports for each "speaker" for it to work correctly is all.

I'll see if you can buy it online...

I bought this for my last (short-lived) laptop. Like DJ says, it does stick out. I haven't hooked it up to anything so didn't get the chance to test it out, as I didn't have the laptop long enough to order some speakers for it.

i tried it out before mine went back but i didnt have the addapter for the 7.1
using only 1 plug it gave me the front 3 speakers and imo i couldnt hear a lot of difference from using the on board. ok,if your using headphones the clarity might be different but for me running it through 1000watt rms speakers there wasnt enough for the £50 i paid for it. it sticking out of the laptop was a pain as well as it gets in the way of the mouse.

has anyone else who has one tried simply hooking up a 3.5mm to toslink adapter with an optical cable to get surround? haven't been able to get it working and creative support hasn't been much help...
