    Still no black, but I got an email from Alienware saying the skullcap model was available for order and I went to there web site and there it was

    i dont think it looks like a xps. the skullcap is basically what all the older aw laptops look like so its basically a glossy version of the other laptops.

    yes, skullcap is the classic Alienware lid design. I don't particularly like it myself, and appreciate the new Ripley design. But the skullcap is in no way a departure from the AW design roots.
