Hi,
I've read a few topics on these forums about people being able to flash their 8800s to 9800s because they're solely based on the same card but the 9800 flash would be a more efficient firmware upgrade and make the card slightly more performant.
Has this ever been done on the m15x notebooks? Is it possible? and how would I go about doing so?
Thanks guys,
In all carefulness,
PS: How do you install the X36 bios? Do you burn it to a CD and launch it in a reboot sequence or what's the process?

you got the BIOS update process about right, yeah. as for the VBIOS flash, i don't think you'd even notice the performance gain.
-
So I've heard, I'm just wondering in terms of re-sell value and stability.
-
last i hear the 9800 was selling for liek 10 bucks more... and stability wont change
-
So you guys don't know how to do it then?

-
Yeah thats the topic I had already looked like, but it doesn't seem to be giving any detailed instructions at all. Its just about some dude who already knows how to do it, who did it.
-
actually, from what i remember, it's done the same way you update the normal BIOS - burn it to a disc, and then run it from DOS.

Do the latest nvidia drivers work with the 9800m GT? Cuz they dont work with my 8800M GTX.
Flash 8800M GTX to 9800M GT
