For reasons I can't discuss publicly, I was wondering if it is possible to flash one of my 260's to a 280's ID but keep the clocks and everything the same - and if Windows will use Hybrid SLI technology to use the second card or if it will just use the 260 or -- ?

Hybrid is integrated with discrete regardless of sli or not.

I believe Moo already flashed his 260 with a 280 bios.

Hmmm... So it is possible to flash my card to show up as a 280M (keeping 260 clocks and everything else the same) and have my other card stay a 260M, and Windows will still use them both for SLI? Even with hybrid SLI disabled in BIOS?

What are you trying to do? Unlocking some more pipelines? Or are you trying to run a 280M and 260M together in SLI? Or something else entirely? Enquiring minds wish to know. ;)

I remember someone bought a 280 and had a 260 then in turn tried to flash it to a 260 but never got it working nor SLI etc.. So im not sure if what your trying to accomplish will work.. Not sure i see the point either because even if you succesfully flash the card to a 280 it will perform no better or worse since nothing is going to change on it other then the device ID...

Moo tried this and it did not work. The card was a brick until flashed back to the GTX 260m bios

Not sure how thats going to play out but it should work just not sure what hes trying to achieve from all this... but since he said he could not mention why then i dunno lol....

I was able to go in and see it but the conflicts between the firmware and board I'd caused it to fail on driver installs change both and your good to go

I just wanted to be difficult :p
