Why did they use cream as there example.. it's looks horrible = / i'm sure it would be nice in a better colour but cream...
-
-
I love how much meaner the M15x looks next to the MBP here:

You can always get an anodizing kit online cheaper if you want to go the DIY route.
-
No you cannot.
The Aluminum on the M17x can be painted but it is best to anodize it for reliability. Colorware is doing the M15x since it is Magnesium and it can actually be painted over. Its actually how they color it @ Dell(spray paint)
But yea ... Looks niccee -
would warranty still be available after u do that....
-
Honestly, you would think something like a deep purple-black would have been nice, or a true scarlet. These primary colors look to my eye like paint jobs from Pep Boys... still, if pimping out your lappy is your thing.... with the LED's on it will start to look like a low rider. -

UPDATED ***Added A Video Clip***

The lime green is pretty cool on the clip.
-
I see why it is so expensive - you can customize the crap out of it.
This is very, very cool stuff and if I had an M15x you bet your arse that I would throw down the cash for this.
If I was interested in doing this it would take me a week easily to finally decide on a color combo. You can even choose a color for the exhaust vents! lol -
I think I would stick with the same two-toned design and go with black and white.
-
You have always been a big white laptop person. lol
I remember when you were going to try the SXPS 16 when it came out in arctic white
Looks damn sweet, though. -
sure beats the 100 dollar Nebula Red Option, LOL!
-
It's that black and white contrast I like. The Dell mini I have is the same with a white lid.
-
Problem is, I would want to see and feel the souftouch paint.
If it's that matte paint with a soft rubber feel that would be fantastic. I don't mind glossy but for areas like the palmrest that softtouch would be sweet. -
This is from Colorware's FAQ:
Q: Does the coloring process affect any existing warranty I may have on my product?
A: As far as we understand other companies policies our color customization typically voids the original manufacturers warranty. If you purchase a new product from ColorWare we do include a 1 year parts and labor warranty that covers the coloring and hardware of the product. With a new product you also have the choice to upgrade to a two year warranty. If you choose to send in a product under the Send In Mine service ColorWare includes a 30 day parts and 1 year labor warranty covering the coloring and hardware of that product. There are no warranty upgrades available with the Send in Mine service.

Maybe have a custom car paint shop do it, put flames on it, lol
-
wow looks sweet, to bad i already sold my soul already otherwise i'll be on it.
-
-
I would pay them at least 300 if they would do my M11X since I carry it with me everywhere.
Maybe I will give them a call? Thanks for link. -
I'm sure they'll customize anything for the right price!
I think that cream looks pretty sick..like the start of a nice digital camo paint job. That's what I would want...either arctic or desert digital camo paint job but I don't really care to spend the time working on that or paying someone to do it. -
500?
The hell, better get a SSD or something worthy for this price O_O
Sure does look cool but meh. -
It'd be worth it on the AW.
If you were to do this to a normal/bland looking laptop then yes it would be a waste.
I think it is worth every penny for the M15x -
I think I don't have 500$ to invest on a paint job!
-
Having the money for it is another matter altogether
lol
-
Well, I'm throwing $3,250 into the Computer, why not make it $3,750 and look twice as awesome?
For only $500 (and your soul) your m15x can be any color under the sun...
