Hey guys! Dunno how many of you know this, but, according to these threads:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...95-ntsc-screen-refresh-rate-above-60hz-6.html

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/660283-you-guys-know-you-can-overclock-lcd.html

So, I tried to do this on my M15x's 1080 screen and I was able to get a stable 120Hz, unlike the 70-90Hz max that most people were getting before getting black screens or grey lines.

So far, everything from the desktop seems smoother, however, I cant reach 120fps on most of my games with a GTX 260m so I haven't noticed any difference during my gaming sessions... well, except for Symphony which seems much smoother.

    Some pointers from the threads:

-Easiest way to do this is from Nvidia's Control Panel - Change Resolution - Customize.

-Doesnt seem to work with optimus systems.

-Needs additional software for AMD systems as they lack the option AFAIK.

-Side effects: reduce LCD's lifespan?? Not sure about this. I have been running @ 120Hz for a week now and havent noticed anything strange.

    Enjoy!

I knew overclock was possible, since I did it on my GTX-460m, although general performance was not big enough for me to feel a difference.
It would be great if lcd lifespan wasn't affected, but with such a huge overclock, I have my doubts. If you're going to keep it for a while, report in once in a while with how it's going, yea? :D

You've seen/noticed strange things with your display yet?

Gladly, everything is still working perfectly at 120Hz, I haven't noticed anything weird during all this months while gaming or while using it normally. The only thing that worries me is that it feels weird going back to 60HZ, and I am planning to upgrade to the M17x R2 which is the thing that worries me as any other desktop monitor that I test this only reach max 75Hz.

    Hello,

So I was a little bit surfing the web and found this little tool, I could get my refresh rate up to 75hz and I really "feel" the difference (less lag).
Cannot get it higher for now, get a black schreen.
I thaught lets post it here and see what you guys think :).
It's only for AMD/NVIDIA solutions, optimus/enduro turned on it won't work I think.

EDIT: I have it working with the 13.3 Beta 3 drivers so no issues with newer drivers

oops, was already somekind of topic about it. few threads below lol :p

    Hmm i see your point.
I had an Acer 120hz (3d) panel and i liked it because it feels like your eyes have to strain a lot less.
    75 is always better then 60 :D

Thank you for your reply btw (y)

Much like any overclocking, every sample is different.
