This is the only laptop where you have to install about 20 different types of things just to have it run normally, im so sick of this laptop if I can sell it for half the price I paid I would, but I probably wont get as much since Alienware tears you a new one when you purchase from them.

Now there are no lights at all on the laptop, im getting sound errors, stealth mode still doesnt work...So annoying.

I'm afraid to say, it's nothing to do with the m15x or alienware. It's your fault. You've screwed up somewhere.
I've reinstalled 3 times on my m15x, and it's all worked fine.

I regret so much buying the laptop, I wish I got a Macbook, for the $3000.00 I paid only last year I could have got an amazing notebook and saved bigtime. Now I have to be happy if someone even offers me $1000.00 for this POS. My fault for buying the laptop.

Learn how to install and what order to do it in and it shouldn't take long. There are plenty of threads on here detailing what order to do it in, did you follow them?

They serve Kool Aid and cookies at the Genius Bar.

And don't forget to ask them a complicated question and watch them run to the backroom for an hour trying to look up the answer.

I got it to work normally the 2nd time, but you what I still have a problem with Alienware. I think you will all agree with me when I say, that they should make 1 disk where once you click setup , it install every single driver you need and just does the whole thing by itself. Instead of you having to click one by one installing, then next then next, they should release a disk that does it by itself...

No, I do not agree with you.

If you're not smarter than the equipment you're working with, you shouldn't be using it in the first place.

They were offering the single click dvd you were referring to for 50 bucks. Its called the alienware respawn dvd. It will restore your system with all the drivers

if you reformat and stick with 32bit, just don't mess with the recovery partition.

you don't really need it IMO. if something goes wrong, you could just as easily reinstall the OS.

you can't see the backup partition in normal vista. with Gparted (live disk) or EASEUS partition manager, you can.
