For some reason I have been having a problem with my M17 lately. Whenever I play a game, whether it be Dead Space, Tomb Raider, etc. the computer plays perfectly fine. As soon as I exit the game and start using windows, after a few minutes the computer will just straight freeze causing me to have to power down and reboot. This happens EVERY time I exit a heavy 3D game.

It is almost like what happens when your CPU is over heating but that is not the case. I checked the temps via hwmon and the hottest the CPU gets is in the 40c's and the hottest the GPU's get is in the 70c's. Again, it will play the game perfectly for as long as I want (hours at a time), only happens when I quit the game and go to windows. I have no clue what is causing this. Any ideas?

Strange. Most people have the opposite problem. Are you playing near an air conditioning device are any other that could be freezing your CPU?

BTW, your GPU is ok. But your CPU is... cool :)

The CPU seems really cool for gaming temps.

I am using Ewrecked 9.1 drivers. Not playing in any abnormal temps. Room temperature is around 70F. It's really wierd. I don't think it has to do with temps because of how it happens every single time. Seems more like a software bug somewhere.

Temperature update, after 1 hour of play, the CPU gets up to about 54C and the GPUs to about 83C. These temps don't seem to be too high. I'm clueless on this issue.

what software do you have running meanwhile you game. its not your temps. and if it was your computer would of restarted, shut off, or you would of had a driver failure.

I run no software while I play. I'm anal like that and only run what I need. I even disable my antivirus.

This could just be a bad hard drive or Ram.

that is the same thing that is happening to me. But i have noticed that is only the monitor that freezes, because if you try pressing the speed buttons (like fn+f5) you'll see that the computer is actually responding. So could it be only a driver issue?
    i'm using E 9.1
