So, like many others my XPS M1730 died 2 months ago and after a brief but deadly battle Dell South Africa ordered my replacement M17x.Then , after 10 days of tracking it online it disappeared(somewhere in Europe).

Another brief skirmish later they reorder. And again, 12 days later the delivery goes AWOL in the Netherlands. Now, Dell S.A will not reorder until Dell Europe's logistics division can figure out what happened to the 2 laptops.

So, here i sit frustrated beyond belief and unsure as to who to contact in Europe in this regard. Any ideas as to who heads up logistics in Europe?

Also,I have been led to believe that this laptop is only manufactured in China and the US( not Ireland as is usually the case). Is this info correct?

Manufactured in China by Flextronics, assembled in China by Dell. (The last time I said Dell manufactured it someone gave me a hard time so now I clarify) ;)

Can't you get a refund or something maybe? Some sort of credit since it's beyond your control and now they pretty much stiff a customer? Sorry to hear the bad news man

i thought dell's main factory was in penang. or thats what i understood from them.. mine says made in china as well but it was couriered from their factory in penang(malaysia) over to me in singapore by delivery truck.

ask them to go screw themselves.. how is their logistics problem your fault? they should start building laptop another right away!

Agreed, I would have suggested speak to Dell/Alienware Europe, however there's no customer service department, only TS or Sales, so I'd try those BUT they're not very helpful...at all.

Thanks for the advice guys...but i want the laptop not my money back. Dell SA are actually really helpful but the resistance to reorder seems to come from Dell Europe..if i just knew who to contact
