Due to an *AHEM* interesting...."experience"....with AW CS, i would like to know if i can buy a 9800 GT card to replace my 8700 from somewhere other than AW. I guess even a 8800 GTX would do the job so im open for ideas!

here is what he means by proper heatsink. If you look at both heatsinks you will see a difference

the left one is the 8800, and the right one is the 8700

    underside.

left is 8800 and right is 8700

Hmmm. Having a layer of paint on your heatsink doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

    that's thermal compound, not paint.

if the 8800M GTX from a clevo does work on the M17x, it would be interesting to see someone try a 9800M GTX on it, though buying just one 9800M GTX would cost a fortune...

9800m-gtx has a much higher power/thermal envelope. you might bust your AC, and melt your notebook to boot :)

15 inch laptops to my knowlage is single gpu. The closes to 2 gpu on a laptop is the M15X and one for laptop use intergraded (less power more batterly life) and one for full power (GPU slot mostly use for gaming laptops) which is a Smart idea.

i don't think you could fit two GPUs in a 15" laptop simply due to size constraints. ever taken a look at the insides of the m15x? it's literally jam-packed with stuff. there's just no more space for a GPU...

unless... AW brought out a Smart Bay GPU :D
