    Hi all.

So I currently have my AW18 and I normally hook it up to one of these for usage at home which is 95% of the time:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/MX279H-Wide...ie=UTF8&qid=1411404327&sr=8-1&keywords=mx279h

I have the chance to get the monitor below at £100 basically brand new
    Asus MX239H 23" IPS HD LED-backlit LCD Monitor (80000000:1, 250 cd/m2, 1920 x 1080, 5ms, DVI/HDMI/VGA): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

I was wonder what your guys opinions were regarding gaming at 1080p on certain monitor sizes. I can tell my 18.4 inch laptop is sharper than the 27" when it comes to text. Do you think dropping down to a 23" monitor will make a difference? Will it help me when gaming or anything else making worth the drop?

I don't wish to go to 1440p 27" on my laptop as I want to game at ultra settings on the majority of times with the system I have i'd have visual fidelity then lower my settings.

information that might help: I sit roughly a 1.5/2foot from the screen it is dead centre with my eyelevel thanks to some useful books.

    Anyway what's your thought guys?
(Should say IPS in the title)

Hello, it is dependent of habits, if you're used to playing from a distance of course I take the 27" remember that there is always the downsampling

Personally I like the biggest screen possible but it all depends on your personal likes. :)

i'd go with a 23"-24" monitor at 1080p and that's fine for me.

Biggest you can comfortably get. 1080p is a fairly easy res for your GPUs so you can always apply AA/AF to help.

23 should be plenty and its cheaper, especially since you sit quite close to the screen anyways.

By the way 1440p should be fine for dual 780m cards. Especially if you tweak them a little.

That's a good thought. I am just fussy about quality. I am like it with everything.

You will notice sharper edges/images with the 23" almost for sure ... especially sitting that close.

I've always thought 27" 1080p screens look pretty bad, personally ... especially desktop text and icons and the like ...

There should be AA applied in 2d mode too, but a 27" 1440p would be a large step up in quality.
