Hey, im going Raid O or 1 in the next couple of weeks. I currently have a 160Gig Fujitsu MHW2160BJ G2 ATA @7200 RPM HD. I want to add another 160 Gig. Can I add just any 160 Gig @7200 RPM HD or do I need to contact alienware and get over priced for one. Can I just also buy a Fujitsu 160 Gig off like newegg.com or tigerdirect.com? Anyone tried this?

You can add one by yourself if you know how to set it up.It's not hard :)

    How's it going AlienContact,
No, you don't have to by it directly from Alienware. You can just as easily buy from a third party company like newegg. However, you might want to concentrate on getting a similar drive (or an identical one) to the one you have. Raid will perform better with identical drives. Also, here's a guide I wrote.

    Hope this helps,

    Gabe,

Thanks, and that link was awesome. I'm ordering the the new drive from newegg.com. I even saved the link in my favorites. I'll read carefully before I go further. I'm aiming at Raid 0, right now!
