    Hi,
I have an Alienware M14X R2 with the Killer Wireless N1202 card and it's giving me more problems than a standard card.
I'm trying to get the Bluetooth function of the card to work with MotionInJoy so that I'm able to use my PS3 pad wirelessly.

MotionInJoy works by overwriting your current BT drivers so that only the PS3 pad can connect to it.

But for the life of me (and I've tried almost everything!) can't get it to connect with the pad. Everything installs fine (albiet I had to add the BT's hardwareID manually) and the pad is able to 'pair' with the BT adaptor, but it just won't connect via BT by after pressing the PS button on the pad.

I've had a previous m14x which didn't have this stupid card and everything worked fine. I just don't know what the problem is, I suspect it has something to do with the Wi-Fi and BT being on the same card?

Anyway, everything about the BT part of the adapter says its fully compatible with the MotionInJoy software and drivers, I just don't know why it won't connect. USB works fine.

Does anybody have this card and managed to get a PS3 pad connected successfully?

Hey, I wish I could help you. I have done it a few times corded with usb and wirelessly on different computers. I gave up trying to do it wirelessly when I first got my AW. I didn't want to force the unsigned drivers on my new system when I didn't know it well.
You mentioned you did it before..
    - were your other bluetooth devices disconnected during the process ?
You've reminded me to give it a bash again so ll try and give it another go when I get some time and report back

The MotionInJoy drivers take over the BT drivers, so BT has to be enabled otherwise it won't detect it. Once it has detected it, it give you the option to 'Load Drivers'. This overwrites your current existing BT drivers with MotionInJoy.

The problem I'm having is that although the drivers install, pairing etc. all works fine and the DS3 Tool says it 'Supports Feature'. I can't seem to make it connect once the USB has been detached :(. No other BT peripherals have ever been connected before so nothing to unpair.

When I got it working previously, it wasn't with the N1202, it was using the standard Dell Bluetooth module.

Just so others know. The Killer Wireless adapter isn't a Wifi+BT combo. The BT is provided via a separate Dell BT adapter. On mine it is a Dell BT 380.

Same is true on my M18x with Intel Ultimate-N 6300. The Bluetooth module on the M18x R1 is the Dell 375 and it is not connected with the WiFi module in any manner. It is attached on the opposite side of the motherboard. I think this is sometimes confusing to folks because the Alienware online configuration tool typically mentions them together, which may mislead some into thinking these are combo WiFi+BT cards when they are totally separate and unrelated components.

So I was giving things another crack when I decided against using Motionjoy for Bluetooth (ps3 pad) because the drivers it installs wont allow other Bluetooth devices to connect. Read on.
I also want to be able to use a Bluetooth headset for chat, and this is where I encountered a problem: see my thread.

In short try re-installing your generic Bluetooth driver from your Alienware driver disk.
    Give it a try.
