Getting Windows 7 Free Upgrade With M17x

Hey, I'm not sure if this has been posted, or if it applies to everyone, or if it will even work but legally, it should.

I was looking at the conditions of the free upgrade to windows 7 thing, and it said any computer purchased on or after June 26, 2009 and before October 22, 2009 that comes with Windows Vista. I was somewhat annoyed seeing as I ordered my system, as well as most of you I think well before June 26th, then I realized it said "Purchased". I checked my online banking, and my credit card hadn't been charged for this laptop until July 7th, therefore making the date of purchase July 7th no?

I have discussed this with a few people and legally it should work if you have documents proving you hadn't "purchased" (been charged on your credit card/whatever) until after June 26th. I can't talk to customer care until Monday, so this is up in the air until then.

Check your statements/online banking and hopefully you'll get yourself a free upgrade to Windows 7. If I'm not mistaken, the only way they can avoid this is if they have written somewhere that the date of purchase is the date of order, I'll leave that for someone else to look up.

I really hope I didn't make a huge tool of myself for completely overlooking something obvious, but whatever .

 

Order date has 0 to do with it . If your "Received" your machine after June 26th you are all set my friend.

EDIT: Just took a look at that thread, if you didn't get that paper thing, then you need to call them and tell them you need it, if they refuse, I guess I provided some information to back people up? I dunno lol.

 

well if they refuse to send me it imma be really mad considering i ordered mine exactly on the 26th of june

 

They can't refuse, Quad said it doesn't matter what the order date was, so you're in the clear for that, and I just gave you some backup .

k guys these 2 are the numbers for vista home64bit and the w7 upgrade [330-5414][420-3251] w7 being 330 and vista home64bit 420...

on my order sheet it only has vista on it... when it should have both which is kinda stupid since its kinda false adver...

well quad if ur talkin to me ya i know both links to go register in i thinkXD but like when i get my system and the voucher/order form isnt in there when they clearly say u get it in there its gonna be kinda frustrating=/

 

Thasee its easier to keep it all contained in one thread so if you have a problem/question what ever you shoud just put it in that thread so people can offer help etc, thats why i made it .
