Well some people here say they get 15% discount without the help of anyone so I am going to try.

-
What's the reason behind?
-
No I was replying to LE25. He was saying just got the for $100.00 coupon and the EPP site which is a flat 10% discount.
That is more than 12% discount for system at the price he was looking at but for systems that are very expensive his option brings in a discount of less than 12%.
Example:
- 8,000.00 system: 12% is $960.00 off / 10% would be $800.00 + 100.00 = $900.00 discount which is less than 12%
- 2,000.00 system: 12% is $240.00 off + $100.00 coupon then it's better than the 12% discount from Ben or Logan. -
Umm how many people purchased/plan to purchase $8k system?
-
I think your missing the 10% discount you get on each upgrade plus the 10% at the end.
-
10% on each upgrade still equates to 10% on the total price. I saved way more than through EPP with them. I dont know how people are doing their calculations but I compaired a quote from EPP and Logan and Logan was cheaper plus i got to use the $100 of coupon!
-
why not just get a quote from EPP and then get a quote from Logan. Im sure he would work to get you less than EPP if you have your EPP quote in the system. They can look up that information if you were already issued a quote.
-
not true, Mark purchased 12k in his cart from Logan and saved 15%-16%
-
Unfortunately the Aussie Dollar has absolutely crashed last few days against the USD..this makes the purchase almost impossible to want to buy at the moment, (its my love for the computer versus the extremely high price)
I'd be going at about $4000 or so at the moment... so its time to watch and wait.
-
$12K?? On what ?
-
Indeed.
Did your costs also take into account customs charging you GST? -
Nope. the 10% GST fee and fedex charges were not included in that price (but they were included in the figure when the Australian Dollar was stronger). This would mean about nearly $4300 including the two above. So I either wait for the $AUD to go up or wait for them to release it in Australia.
I hope they (AUD$) go up soon. -
Waiting for an Australian release may be your best bet.
While ordering from the US is attractive, your benefits quickly erode when you factor in US purchase price (+US state sales tax for Florida), shipping, insurance and GST - with discounts at point of sale. The configuration I considered a few weeks ago when the exchange rate was stronger only worked out AUD$260 cheaper. If I was penny pinching then the saving is good but I'm not really worried about a few hundred $$ for the extra delay/hassle.
I'll review again and compare prices once the 5870s are released in AU though as it may yet prove to be a viable option. -
Being Australia, I'm expecting the CF5870's to cost mor than $100. It may end up that saving at least $300 is much better than having to pay a high premium. I mean they KNOCKED up the price of the GTX 260m for a damn HD 5730. Only in Australia... (the same config for the m15x went $124 more expensive due to that.. so I'm not quite holding my breath).

Unreal. My order says it has been shipped. I ordered on May 17th. Can't say how much I appreciate Joelhr's help on this thread. It was supposed to be shipped around June 17!! Hope Dell's email is for real.
Good US Rep on Facebook!
