    Well the only way I could really get them was to order the wife a new laptop and swap them out :D The only drivers I could get to work were from AW's for some reason :confused: Don't know. So here are my benchies in 06 and Vantage with the cpu oc'd to 3.5

    06= 15694
    Vantage= P8621 GPU-9360 CPU-6970

    I'll try the 9.8 drivers a little later. Really haven't tried any games since I'm at work but try tonight

    Congrats on the rig, mine has been a lot of fun. I've had no issues using the 9.8 or 9.9 drivers on Vista when using mobility modder. Once you update you should be just under 10k in 3dmark Vantage.

    If you use the latest Mobility Modder it should update fine. Give it a go.

    Hope you enjoy. Your beast suddenly became even more beastly. :)

    Yeah congrats Frozen.....its finally happened for you mate!

    good initial scores there as well. Alex said he hit around 16000 on 3dmark06 so I reckon you will get a little more with better more modern drivers.
    I would recommend Windows 7 as well. It seems to utilise things better and give better performance, as most people already know.

    good luck.

    Aye, Cat 9.9 (desktop) modded with the latest mobility modder (you NEED the newest one that came out about a month ago, 1.2.1.0,as it added 4850 support, do you still have an older version perhaps?) work great with the laptop :)

    Definately a step up from the AW (8.12/9.1) drivers, especially with better crossfire profiles, and some major multicore improvements etc in games.

    GPU score with the [email protected] was 9815 in Vantage, which rose to 10600 when I put a mild overclock on them for testing purposes (ie 20 mins at 560/840 [Hell some of the MSI owners are pretty much running this as stock clocks!]), I dont really bother with 06 anymore as its so CPU limited, and doesnt really scale with newer GPUs in the same way games do!

    I was using Vista64 as by and large I've been very happy with Vista64 for the last few years, so can afford the wait for Windows7 official media to come through my door :)

    Once you've got the 9.9s on, hopefully you'll be getting a nice performance boost game dependant over your old 3870s :)

    Just wish mine was working, lost so much time with it now...almost 4 weeks, had it less than 2months :(

    Ah yea, erm, try Everest (i think). The only way to get the temp readings to work is by disabling one card, opening the program then reenabling it. Not sure if they managed to find a work around for that issue.

    After changing from 9.7 to 9.8 I never had the issue again.

    Still locks up for me with both 9.8 and 9.9 unless I disable crossfire first. :(

    Not to mention my Everest trial version ran out. Did you guys actually pay for it, or is there a free version out there somewhere? The free home version didn't give me temps and the ultimate version is $40, which seems steep to me.
