Hey, yesterday I realized that my green audio jack on my M17x has become loose, it is still in there but I'm afraid it will fall out soon. Is there any possible fix for this?
To anyone who has opened up their system, is there an easy way to get at the plug from the inside and secure it that way? I don't really want to send my laptop back right now since I need it for school and I've heard the horror stories about the on-site techies so I don't really want to do that...
If anyone could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I haven't seen the inside of a M17x but most jacks like that are soldered right to the motherboard. So in order to really get it fixed you're looking at a replacement. You could try and secure it but as long as it still wiggles around it will eventually break loose and could even cause a short and lead to other problems. I'd honestly give them a call to get it fixed.

Have him watch the video and offer the service manual ...
Or do it while he watches
They will come to you where ever -

That's where you can find the Service Manual on how to take it apart. On Page 64 you can see the I/O Board which shows the audio jacks. You can try and secure it yourself or if you really can't get it repaired until May then don't plug anything into it and you should be ok until you can get it fixed. -
Alright, thanks guys.
