    Hey guys,

Do you reckon the M17x will be able to play Guild Wars 2 on max settings or is it worth investing in the M18x?

    Cheers.

depends on what graphics card your looking at. MMO's usually aren't to demanding, but I haven't played the first one or followed the second one so I don't know for sure.

It should Run it fine on a single 580m or 6990m with a 2670. Was looking at recommended specs and they aren't anything crazy.

First Guild Wars ran on max settings even in older systems and I'm very sure that ArenaNet is aiming to make it possible with Guild Wars 2 as well.

There is no need to get M18x just for Guild Wars 2 as I'm positive M17x will run it on max settings even if you choose 6990.

lots of particle effects in GW2, it seems like big battles like World v World is gonna be very very graphically intense.

I have the same concern as you too

Please take a look of Guild Wars 2's World v World footage if you're not sure:

Whats worth noting down is that the highest graphic settings weren't available in Beta, press werent playing at max setting.

A 6990m in the M17xR3 should be more than enough to run GW2 at max settings.

As for the 580m, it's generally more expensive for a 5%~ performance boost. That money is better off being invested into an SSD.
