    HD4870 on a M15X possible?

    Hi, just wondering is it wise to get the HD4870 from MXM Upgrades to put inside the New i7 M15X?

    I know that the M15X supports up to 65W for the Graphic card.
    but

    "AMD published a current consumtion of about 65 Watt for the HD 4870"

    anyone know is this possible? thanks for reading!

    we try that already with moo and it doesn't work at least with A01 bios i don't know if the A02 or A03 is supported :)

    Thanks for the reply, cause i tried searching "HD4870 M15X" didnt have any good results.

    Well is it possible that the TS could retry with the A02 or A03 bios?

    it is possible because we was able to use the laptop but all the colors was mess up

    just needs a quick fix in the BIOS or play around on the OS level.

    We could try it again but we would need 10-20$ for gas again :D

    Would love to see it work.
    If a HD4870 worked does that mean a HD5870 would?Now that would blow my mind.

    NVM guys i forgot i now have a pair of 4870's coming in to test with.

    I dont have to drive anywhere .....

    I'll take the M15x and test it with the 4870's i have coming in the M17x .... So one day when i get time i will do it ...

    Just need to order some MX2 paste
