The HDMI port in the M15X is V1.3, cable is V1.3 the HDTV screens that I have/have tried are older, and only support V1.2...

    So it'll work with a 1.3 port but not a 1.2 apparantly... Sigh :-/

theres of course no way i can test it out b/c since my screen only supports hdmi port v 1.2, and m15x is v1.3.. well.. it wouldnt work!

after all the testing and phoning and questioning. that's the most logical answer i can find :-/

however, if the hdmi port on m15x was 1.2... it would work with 1.2 and 1.3 :D.. =( too bad it's not. heh

    can anyone verify this?

EDIT: Steve if you read this, can you try the M15X on HDTVS that support 1.2 input?

edit-edit: going to phone again and see if v1.3 laptop, 1.2 cable and 1.2 tv would work :-/

lol i wish people would give more info like my tv support did from the begining... the m15x is a 1.3 output, you need a 1.2 cable to connect to a 1.2 tv.

the reason why my m15x worked with 1 out of 10 tvs is probably because, 1.) my cable is 1.3, and 9 out of the 10 tvs are older models with 1.2 support only, and that ONE tv supprted 1.3

hehe. so ppl, if you want to make sure your m15x is compatible with every hdtv... make sure your cable is 1.2

also, i was told maybe it's my cable problem, yes but my cable is fine, it wasnt broken because it worked, its just a wrong version.

need to check with aw to make sure the 1.3 signal will turn into 1.2 though.

EDI:T I HOPE this wil help someone,/other people in buying cables.

Well I can tell you this much that if you are connecting to a tv with 1.2v HDMI the Alienware should support the signal without any problems although it has 1.3v HDMI.
