I can't seem to get the HDMI sound portion working... The video works fine though atm...

the options i have under "Playback Devices" are
    1. Speakers-"Realtek High Definition Audio"
    2. Realtek Digital Output-"Realtek High Definition Audio"

the default would be #1. for laptop speakers.
I tried setting #2 to default but no sounds come out. The sound is turned up on both the laptop and the TV, and neither one is muted.

What's the HDMI sound thing called under playback devices?

HDMI does indeed support signal for high bandwidth audio. Several formats in fact. Wiki it if you need to know more.

The real question here is whether or not AW has interfaced that connection with the audio processing. I actually would love to know this as well. I was hoping to run this laptop straight to my home theater set-up on occasion.

audio out on my m15x is working fine ... you just have to select Digital Out before you connect it to your TV!
Optical out is working fine too!

Why do people still keep on saying HDMI on the M15x doesn't support audio?? *sigh*

Anyway, it works a treat. I have my M15x linked up to my Samsung 32".

All you have to do is double click on the Realtek HD Audio Manager icon (little red speaker bottom right of screen) and click on the Digital Output tab and then click Set Default Device. Job done.

Just click on the Speakers tab and click on Set Default Device to change it back.

    I hope this helps. :)

Have you been able to do it on other TVs? Maybe there's a setting on your TV that needs to be enabled? Unlikely, but worth a try, no?
