Does your TV have the ability to move the image up/down/left/right? Ie, is it that the image on your TV is just off-centre, or is it some other cropping problem?

Tv's branded as 1080p or 1080i do not always actually have 1920x1080 pixels but just can down scale the image.. i think thats your issue. Google your HDTV and see what its actual max resolution is. most 1080p esp the larger ones only do 1440x800 or so.

for instance (its cheap but its just over 720p so it can clame 1080p support) thats the main reason i think the hole blu-ray and HD content push is a scam atm 90% of the displays can not even push rez that higher than a SD or old Home theater.

Thats not true at all. I bought my 40" LCD over a year ago and its native res is 1920 x 1080. And the blu-ray/hd-dvd content blows anything else I view on it out of the water.

Sorry Heathkidd but that's totally wrong.

As for the actual question. Look for an option on your tv that makes it not touch the image at all. On my 42" Samsung it's called "Just Scan".

On my Philips I have a "Format" button. This let's me change the display size: 4:3, 16:9, Widescreen, Automatic, Unscaled, etc. Automatice was the default setting and would cause the picture to stretch, shrink, and do all sorts of acrobatics depending on what was being played. Switching it to unscaled displayed the image properly from the source device. Perhaps yours has a similar feature?

I'll add to the collection, Heathkidd you are wrong. :p

I fixed it, all you have to do is open the nvidia display advanced options, then adjust the screen size.
