Ok so I ordered a 250 gig hard drive for my alienware laptop, I also ordered a usb enclosure off of ebay.. long story short the enclosure was crap and came with german software

I am trying to clone the drive so I can slap it in with no problems. I cloned my current drive to an external drive I allready have but once I installed the new drive I couldnt get anything to work and I could not get fdisk to boot from my flash drive. Can someone point me in the right direction? I am going to kick myself once someone tells me what I am forgetting to do. Any help much appreciated.

What software did you use to clone your original drive with?

Whatever you use needs to not only make an image, but also clone your partitions, and make the drive bootable. Something like Acronis is a great tool for that. Is that what you did?

So the new HD is inside your laptop already or is in the usb enclosure?
What SW are you using to clone the HOST HD?
How many partition do you have on your HD ?
Do you have dual booting in your system?
    Did you check the BIOS?

This company has a top sw called True Image http://eu.acronis.com/
