ok i am in the airport now and scared to death.
    (btw i am in China)

couple hours ago, the laptop was working fine.

and suddenly when i turn on the laptop in the cafe of the airport to go through some email.... a crazy screen came up.......

i don't have pictures yet but here is what it looks like. whenever the background has black color, there will be thousands of flashing green lines......
from the start screen (the alienware head one) to anyway in window.

at the beginning i thought might be the gpu is fried, so i switch to intel graphic. but it is the same thing. (i tried different resolutions, but all the same)The computer is working fine window is on. but....i am very scared....

i am going to have a business meeting in 24 hr with an important presentation.....

anyone know wth is going on with my lappy?

and suggestion? since i am in China...... :( no idea if i can find someone to fix it....

    @#$@$%^%& help!!!!! T_T

I don't have any suggestions on how you can fix it, but if you don't get a fix here, China is actually a pretty good place to have it fixed quickly.

try deleting/uninstalling the gpu driver and reinstalling the most recent version.
i know you said it happens with internal as well, so this may point to some connection faulting at this time.

Almost sounds like the LCD cable might be loose. See if you can connect it to an external monitor and let us know if it works or not. Hope this helps. God Bless :)

talked with AW on phone with long distance call -_- seems no hope to fix it here. I will try to ship the lappy back to the US ..... sigh.......... ....... then wait for god knows how long...the guy said 5 days usually for this problem...well... since whatever AW told me i consider them fake hopes. I will just go grab a cheap netbook for now.....-_- so i hv something to use....

btw... it's the LCD cable is messed up.

and a opinion here....how much i can sell my lappy for now? thinking about the new M17x ummmm yummy.....

You may be surprised at the skill levels of the folks in the little "hole in the wall" computer repair shops there. I've taken malfunctioning laptops to little shops in China and Singapore and both times the person was bale to repair my laptop on the spot.
